Please ignore this email. I’m still not approved for my new email address so this was a failed attempt from yesterday.

Dear Abbess and Brothers and Sisters,

I find myself currently meditating and pondering the idea of atonement as in 1John 4:10 - and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

I don't think I understand it very well beyond the literal level and I would like some recommendations of where I can find out more and dig deeper - both from an Anglican perspective and other views. I also understand that the Fransiscans never really bought into the idea of atonement. Any suggestions for reading would be very helpful to me.
TIA

Caritas,
Sister Clare
