How awful!  My heart goes out to you and to your family.

When I was a young man studying for the Roman Catholic priesthood, I had the privilege of working with autistic boys, and saw how difficult it was for them to process any changes in their environment, so I can only imagine what he must be going through.  I am especially praying for Ben.

At about 5:30 this morning lightning struck the power line to my parents’ house and ignited the gas heater, causing a fire. My family got out ok, but it sounds like the attic is completely charred and there is extensive smoke damage to the entire house.

They will not be able to live there until repairs and cleanup have been completed, and we’re praying that their insurance will put them up in a hotel.

Please pray for adequate accommodations and a swift resolution. My parents, John and Gwendolyn are also the guardians of my nephew Ben who is severely autistic and is in great distress.
