Dear Brother Ronan, I’ve heard it said that coincidences are God’s way of remaining anonymous but in your case it seems that God is being verifiably onymous! If you and Colleen would like, I’m sure a group of us would be happy to teach the two of you how to speak Southern. Every blessing on your adventure, Sister Anna Grace Sent from my iPhone > On May 25, 2024, at 10:20 AM, Brother Ronan Patrick, n/OSB <brother@ronanpatrick.com> wrote: > > > Dear Abbess, Brothers, and Sisters, > > As some of you may know, my wife Colleen was laid off from her company on May 1st. She has been searching for a job. I work remotely and am not tied down to any particular place, so Colleen's job search was nationwide. Last week she spoke to a recruiter about an opportunity that was intriguing to Colleen, in Macon, GA, by Friday he had shared her information with the hiring manager, so she knew there should be an interview sometime. This past Monday (5/20), he called her again and told her that the manager would want to interview her that evening at 5PM to which Colleen said "Yes". > > Colleen went out to do some yard work while waiting for 5PM to roll around. While she was out one of the couples in our neighborhood came down the driveway and asked Colleen if she had ever thought about selling our house. Colleen said "Yes", because we may need to move due to her losing her job. This couple, MT and John, have their house on the market, because they need to downsize, apparently MT has always loved our house. They lived in the neighborhood when the original owners were still here. All of the sudden Colleen, MT, and John come into the house and Colleen is giving them a tour. I picked up via context clues what was going on, but continued prepping a casserole we were having for dinner. Since this was Monday, 5/20, it was our Anniversary too. > > That evening Colleen had the interview with the hiring manager, and it went really well. She told Colleen that they would probably fly her down next week for a face to face interview. Tuesday rolls around and the recruiter calls her to say that Jolene, the hiring manager, realized there was something going on next week, would Colleen be able to interview on Thursday of this week instead. Colleen said "Yes". Jolene told her someone would be in touch to schedule travel. That same day MT contacted Colleen and said that she and John would like to see the house again. We said "Yes". We scheduled that for Wednesday evening. Thinking Colleen would be traveling Thursday morning and back Thursday night. Well we were wrong. The coordinator called Colleen on Wednesday morning to schedule her travel, they asked for her to fly out Wednesday afternoon. She'd stay overnight and then interview on Thursday, and fly home that evening. Colleen said "Yes". We asked MT if we could reschedule to Friday morning and they said Yes. > > Thursday Colleen's interview went really well and she got back home safe, albeit fairly late that night. She was told that they would be making a decision early next week. > > Friday morning MT and John came over to walk the house. Colleen and I sat out on the patio to give them privacy so they could walk through. After they were done they came out and sat on the patio and we talked numbers and they made us a very generous offer and it would be cash. We said "Yes" to the offer, trusting that we could not pass up this offer. That was all done around 11:30 or so. At 4 PM Colleen got a call from Jolene and they made her an offer for the job. Colleen said "Yes". > > It was the most surreal experience through the whole week this week. Sorry for such a long rambling email, but I wanted to share our good news with my Brothers and Sisters of CSL. Your prayers for us this week for our Anniversary was a great blessing and has really helped bolster us and to help us trust through all of these things that just seemed to continue to click into place. > > There is a reason we are being led to middle Georgia and I can't wait to see what it is. Any barriers or reasons to fret and worry have been removed out of our way. We took a leap of faith in saying "Yes" throughout the experiences. > > PAX, > Brother Ronan, n/OSB
