Dear Abbot, and my Sisters and Brothers,

I have just been informed by Deacon Stephen from my parish that our Brother Arne Aasen, Obl/OSB, died yesterday at 4:00 AM. He had been in a care home for several weeks following hospital time in the ICU with severe shortness of breath.

Give rest, O Christ, to your servant with your saints,
where sorrow and pain are no more,
neither sighing, but life everlasting.

Br. Arne has a niece who is a member of a neighboring parish. She will be making the funeral arrangements, with a service to be held sometime in October. I will keep the community informed.

May light perpetual shine upon him.
