Dear Abbess, Sisters and Brothers,

Please find attached the prayer list for the Companions of St. Luke for the upcoming week.

Thank you for your ongoing prayers for Brother William Marion's and my church, Grace and St. Stephen's Episcopal in Colorado Springs, as the search for our new rector continues. We have a wonderful interim Rector, Pastor Gordy, who is ordained in the ELCA (thank you for your prayers for our "full communion partners"!) who has been shepherding our flock for over a year. Our Search Committee has received applications and is beginning initial interviews on Zoom. As the Search Committee Chaplain, I get to be the  prayerful "fly-on-the-wall" observer of the process, and it is fascinating. It is also a lot of work, taking a ton of time. There is no rushing this process -- our former Rector, Jeremiah Williamson, left us at Christmas 2023 to become the Bishop of Albany (looking at you, Sr. Catherine Ann!) -- and it seems less like a job inquiry than a marriage courtship. We want to take our time being led by the Holy Spirit to find our next "settled rector", as Pastor Gordy says. God's Kairos, not our chronos, is the pacesetter. As much as I resist the impulse to pray for patience (because then I'll have to practice patience), I pray for patience. Lord, help me rest in your plan, and your vision for our beloved church.

PAX,
Cindy (& Sr. Clare)
