We are safe and staying with my Son in Waynesville NC, about 35 miles West of Asheville. Our apartment complex in Asheville is still without water and electricity, and no phone service. Officials are saying that it could be several weeks before we get water there. Relief is now pouring into the region. The Governor is here, the National Guard, and water and MRE’s are being shipped in on military planes to the Asheville airport. The President is flying over the area tomorrow. There are convoys of Linemen trucks and ambulances coming in from the Eastern part of the State, also from the South and Canada. The last death count was 120 and several hundred missing.
Continued prayers are appreciated.
Pax,
Brother Raymond

I texted with Sister Toni after Chapter. She is fine, but doesn’t have power.  They did get a lot off rain and wind. It was worse than she had expected.

Thank you, Brother.

We should also remember Sr. Toni in Columbia, SC, which was expected to be in Helene's path for rain and winds.

After chapter this afternoon, I tried to call Br. Matthias. The phone rang three times then  was disconnected. I'll keep trying.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

At Chapter this afternoon, many of us expressed concern about our members in North Carolina. As listed in the directory, I know of these 4:

Br. Matthias - Franklin, NC
Br. Raymond - Asheville, NC
Sr. Hildegard - Durham, NC
Jason Lentz - Chapel Hill, NC

I'm sure many of you may have friends and family in the affected areas as well. We include all of them in our thoughts and prayers.

I pray our members affected may be able to know of our support for them and hope that they, as able, will let us know they are safe.

And, for the rest of us, if we hear from anyone in NC or other impacted regions, please keep us posted.

May the safety and comfort of God surround all who are struggling with the impact of Hurricane Helene at this time.

Blessings and Love,
Abbess Martha
