Hello all - I belong to one other private group and the only way to get on was by invitation. “Hey you” aka Br. John David - you would find it because you are the admin.  The rest of us can’t. I think you need to send invites.

Br. John David,

Here's what I see when I search for Groups in FB:

As you can see I'm not filtering out Private Groups. I'm wondering if in settings in the private Group is it set to not be discoverable in Searches? Not sure.

PAX,
Rocky

hi Didier,
Good to hear from you.
He's 'Abbot David.'
I'm 'hey you.'

Here's the deal on the FB pages.
It's a work in progress, begun last week.

"Companions of St. Luke OSB" is the private site.
"Companions of St. Luke- OSB" is the public site.
Unfortunately, we're having a hard time with FB as to the old public site, "Companions of St. Luke Bendictine." The Abbot wants it removed but the admin is no longer with us and only admin can remove a site.

If you search, once in FB, for  "Companions of St. Luke OSB," you will get the private site and the public site. The public site has the dash.
If you search in google you can get lots of stuff.  As to our Order, you will likely get "Companions of St. Luke Benedictine." Again, that is the old public site.
FB forum says post a message thereto directing folks to the new site. We have done that.

We need more help on the committee. If you are good at FB and so inclined, let me know.

Pls hit me up for more, as needed.

Good evening, All, (I apologize if I am not addressing you properly: I am not versed in the proper protocol yet.)

As much as I hate to be contrary, I just went to Facebook, and here is what I have discovered:

There are indeed two FB CSL pages, but, as far as I can tell, they do not bear exactly the same name:

(1) The Companions of St. Luke -Benedictine. This is a group.
(2) Companions of St. Luke- OSB. This is a page.

Mind the fact that the dashes are reported correctly; (1) dash attached to “Benedictine,” (2) dash attached to “Luke.” Though I am not sure exactly what the difference is between group and page, I noticed you can join a group, but you can only “like” a page.  Maybe Rocky can explain that difference? I’d be interested to know.

If there is a group or page without a dash, I have not found it yet. Further:

(1) The picture on this one features a monk and a nun carrying Sheppards’ staffs. The main picture, once you click on the link has a photo of the group, with a Bishop and the brother Abbott to the left.

(2) features a medieval-looking mural, representing also a couple (presumably monk and nun, with halos around their heads.) This one mentions that “The order of St. Benedictine welcomes you,” which I think should read: “The order of St. Benedict welcomes you.”

I have joined t5he group (1) and liked the page (2). There is also a group called “The Order of Saint Luke” but it is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. I hope this message helps clarify something. Try as I may, I am not getting any hit on “Companions of St. Luke OSB;” it always gets me back to “Companions of St. Luke- OSB.”

Yours in Christ,

Didier

Dear Brother,
I think I found the public FB site and I did post a like.  How do I find the private site?

If you have not, may I invite you to simply 'like' our new public Facebook page?
By google you still get the old public site and Br Florian is working on that.
But within FB, if you search, you will get the private site (no dash) and our new public site.
