Dear Abbot, Brothers and Sisters,

I have had a couple of questions recently about June Convocation, particularly from those beginning to check flight prices, so wanted to get some preliminary information out.

Convocation is Monday June 13-Saturday June 18 at Conception Seminary in Conception, MO. For those driving, first meeting on Monday will be at 2:00 PM. For those flying, the closest airport is Kansas City International (MCI). I recommend arriving on Sunday June 12 as the community will arrange for a bus to pick you up on Monday. If at all possible, please make your departing flight on Saturday June 18 after 2:00 PM. You will not leave Conception until 10:00 AM. It is roughly 90 minutes to the airport, so this time allows for wiggle room with check-in and getting through security. If this presents a hardship due to lack of flight schedules, please let me know before finalizing your flight. If necessary the community can arrange transportation on Friday afternoon for those with early Saturday flights, though you will be asked to stay at an airport hotel on Friday and use the hotel shuttle.

Once again I am recommending the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel KCI. We've used this property the past couple of convocations and those who have stayed there have given me positive comments. As of today, the Marriott website shows rates of about $117 + tax; super-sleuths may be able to find less expensive rates on travel sites. The hotel website is:
